These
are some of the children at Komatsu
elementary school during
a video conference with Ironwood Observatory. Teacher Eiji Matsumoto was using
the remote telescope here in Hawaii while students were
receiving
an astronomy lesson and practicing
speaking
English
at the same time.
The
fully automated observatory runs without an attendant, it starts itself at night
and watches the weather takes images
opens and closes and in the morning
shuts itself down in the morning
